I’ve always been fascinated by the moments when the world quietly changes through new materials, tools, or ideas that reshape possibilities. Stone, bronze, iron, steel, plastics, and silicon all defined eras long before anyone gave them a name. Today, I feel as if we’re living through another one, and I feel incredibly lucky to be working inside it.


I studied materials science and engineering because I wanted to understand what everything is really made of. Materials are embedded in almost every aspect of modern life, from the roads we drive on to the devices in our pockets. What struck me early on was how much care, patience, and responsibility are required to make materials behave reliably. When a material fails, the consequences ripple outward. When it works, it disappears into the background, which is often the highest compliment.


At the start of my career, I gravitated toward early-stage companies working on emerging technologies. My role was often to help teams slow things down just enough to make good decisions: setting priorities, building structure, and translating complex work into plans people could actually follow. I learned quickly that progress depends as much on communication and trust as it does on technical skill.


In 2020, I joined HydroGraph Clean Power as its first employee. At the time, it was little more than a powerful idea and a breakthrough method for producing graphene. There was no template to follow. We were figuring out in real time what kind of company we wanted to build, how to support the science, and how to move carefully without losing momentum. 

Today, I serve as President, CEO, and Board Chair, working with teams in Toronto and Austin, Texas as we scale advanced materials production. My focus is on building systems, processes, and a culture that can last.
